I am honored to have been requested by my colleagues on the University of Florida Faculty Senate to invite you to meet with us in Gainesville on the 18th of January, 2001, from 3 pm to 5 pm.

The UF Faculty Senate would like to discuss with you, in a collegial fashion, our concerns about the new governance system that the Transition Committee is debating.  Further, we would like to be in the position of not just criticizing the solutions proposed by others, but suggesting— to you— our solutions to problems with the presently constituted SUS governance system. Finally, we would very much like to hear your thoughts on the reorganization of the State University System.

If you are available to come to Gainesville on that day, I will be pleased to introduce you to our campus and show you around the medical center prior to the Senate meeting.

Please let me know your thoughts on the possibility of visiting us.  I look forward to meeting with you.
