Domestic Partner Benefits

As the vast majority of universities comparable in stature to the University of Florida do offer domestic partner benefits to their employees;

As Hillsborough Community College within our own state system offers domestic partner benefits to their employees;

As the City of Gainesville, in which the University of Florida is located, offers domestic partner benefits to their employees,

As the lack of domestic partner benefits hinders recruitment and retention of employees,

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Faculty Senate of the University of Florida encourages the administration of the University of Florida to provide domestic partner benefits to employees of the University of Florida.
