Request for Domestic Partner Benefits
THE FACULTY SENATE

Whereas the vast majority of universities comparable in stature to the University of Florida do offer domestic partner benefits to their employees,

Whereas Hillsborough Community College within our own state system offers domestic partner benefits to their employees,

Whereas the City of Gainesville, in which the University of Florida is located, offers domestic partner benefits to their employees,

Whereas the lack of domestic partner benefits hinders recruitment and retention of employees,

We request that the Senate urge the University Administration to provide domestic partner benefits to employees of the University of Florida.
